The bloom is pretty striking.

I hope to let it go to seed, dry it out and then feed the seeds to the chickens. This time, I will shake them off the sunflower head first. We don't want another freak out.
Recently I tried making my own granola. It ended up being quite simple, and I recommend trying it yourself. Dakota and I both find most store-bought granolas way too sweet and full of "extra" flavors. So, my goal was to make granola that was simple, healthy and tasty.

I just re-read your entry on the sunflower seed "freak out" of last November. Hope that your girls don't have nightmares with your current sunflower looming so near their coop.
