I picked this beautiful, bright-red strawberry from one of my potted plants last week. It was delicious.
I think next spring I'm going to try to grow a whole patch. I suspect my son will really enjoy picking and eating them right from the garden.
Recently I tried making my own granola. It ended up being quite simple, and I recommend trying it yourself. Dakota and I both find most store-bought granolas way too sweet and full of "extra" flavors. So, my goal was to make granola that was simple, healthy and tasty.

I have a "patch" but not in the ground. You lose a lot to slugs and rot in the ground. I have a few pots and a "condo" which is a cylinder with holes in it. Fill the cylinder with soil and plant the strawberry starts in the holes and on the top. You'll maximize plants/square footage and keep the berries from laying on the ground and rotting or getting eaten. You could have several towers, and you can build them out of PVC drainage pipe if you're not plastic-adverse. Mine is clay. I love it! I've seen the PVC ones 15-20 feet tall!
Oooh that looks gorgeous!!
I love those big terra cotta strawberry pots. Maybe next Spring I'll get one.
