Jackie & Lisa getting bigger from Audrey Diehl on Vimeo.
We have been trying to hold Jackie and Lisa up for a little while each day so that they get used to us. It freaks them out a little, but they do okay. The cutest part is that the chick who's left alone in the brooder starts looking around and peeping really loud. She misses her sister immediately.
Audrey,
Your chickens are remarkably cute! Is it really 90 degrees or more in their brooder? Is all the peeping giving you a headache?
Wondering,
Dad
We are supposed to keep the area under the light at 90 degrees for the first week, and then reduce it by 10 degrees each week as the chicks get bigger and grow more feathers. They don't spend all their time under the light, but they like to snooze under it.
